***Patchy dense fog to linger into this afternoon***

Areas of fog will persist into this afternoon with some locations seeing occasional visibility dropping to one quarter mile or less at times. Slowly improving conditions are expected through the afternoon as rain showers move into the area ahead of a cold front. Motorists should exercise caution driving. When approaching stop signs, stop and listen for approaching vehicles since you may not see their headlights.

*AREAS OF DENSE FOG DEVELOPING EARLY THIS MORNING WITH VISIBILITY LESS THAN ONE QUARTER OF A MILE AT TIMES.

*HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED DUE TO LOW VISIBILITY AND RAPIDLY CHANGING VISIBILITY ACROSS SHORT DISTANCES.

****PATCHY FOG WITH ICY SPOTS POSSIBLE THIS MORNING****

FOG WAS DEVELOPING ACROSS THE REGION EARLY THIS MORNING. VISIBILITY WILL GENERALLY BE BETWEEN 1 AND 3 MILES BUT SOME RURAL AREAS COULD SEE THE VISIBILITY REDUCED TO ONE HALF MILE OR LESS AT TIMES. THE COMBINATION OF FOG WITH TEMPERATURES BELOW FREEZING WAS LEADING TO SCATTERED SLICK AND ICY SPOTS ON ROADS, BRIDGES, PARKING LOTS AND SIDEWALKS. USE CAUTION OVERNIGHT AND BE PREPARED FOR SCATTERED SLICK SPOTS.

Flood Warning Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: Cass, Kosciusko, Miami, Wabash, and Whitley Counties.

The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers, Eel River at North Manchester affecting Cass, Kosciusko, Miami, Wabash and Whitley Counties. Recent rainfall and snow melt led to an abrupt rise on the Eel River at North Manchester. Water levels will continue to rise. This alert is until Wednesday evening. 

*At 6 PM Monday the stage was 9.5 feet and rising. 

*Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast. 

*Flood stage is 9.0 feet. 

*Forecast...The river will rise to crest near 10.5 feet around 7 AM Tuesday December 27 and fall below flood stage around 10 PM Tuesday December 27. 

*At 11.0 feet...Flood water nears the lumber company and trailer court on south Mill Street. 

Instructions: Never drive vehicles through flooded areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio or local media for further statements and updated forecasts. ****SLICK ROADS POSSIBLE TONIGHT**** 

Winds will continue to diminish early this evening. However...snow covered roads will remain possible due to drifting of snow across open areas earlier this afternoon. Some melting of drifting snow earlier today may also refreeze tonight as temperatures drop into the mid and upper teens. Motorists should be prepared or patches of slick roadways when traveling across the region tonight...and exercise caution.
