Indiana Target Area: Adams, Allen, Blackford, Cass, De Kalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Pulaski, Starke, Wabash, Wells, White and Whitley Counties.

 

AREAS OF FOG OVERNIGHT WITH PATCHY DENSE FOG POSSIBLE


Fog will continue to develop through the overnight hours, with some patchy dense fog also expected. Visibility may drop to less than one quarter of a mile in the denser fog patches overnight, and the coverage of dense fog may expand. Motorists should be prepared for rapid changes in visibilities across short distances. Allow extra distance between the vehicle ahead of you and use low beam headlights.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT EDT /11 PM CDT/ FRIDAY NIGHT TO 9 AM EDT /8 AM CDT/ SATURDAY MORNING.


*WHAT: Mixed precipitation expected. Total wet snow accumulations of up to one inch and ice accumulations of up to two tenths of an inch are expected.

*WHERE: Portions of northern Indiana, mainly south of highway 30.

*WHEN: From midnight EDT /11 PM CDT/ tonight to 9 AM EDT /8 AM CDT/ Saturday.

*ADDITIONAL DETAILS: The wintry mix will result in difficult travel conditions. Be prepared for reduced visibility at times.

The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers: Tippecanoe River near Ora affecting Fulton...Kosciusko...Marshall...Pulaski and Starke Counties. Kankakee River at Davis affecting La Porte...Starke and St. Joseph Counties. Yellow River at Plymouth affecting Marshall, Starke and St. Joseph Counties. Saint Joseph River Ohio below Montpelier affecting Williams County. Saint Joseph River Ohio near St. Joe River Ft. Wayne affecting Allen County. Tiffin River(Ohio) near Stryker affecting Defiance...Fulton and Williams Counties. North Branch Elkhart River at Cosperville affecting Noble County. *At 5 PM Monday the stage was 10.3 feet and rising.

*Moderate flooding is forecast.

*Flood stage is 11.0 feet.

*Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage Monday night and crest near 15.4 feet around 7 PM Wednesday February 21 and fall below flood stage around 2 PM Friday February 23.

*At 15.5 feet...Significant flood problems in southwest Whitley and northeast Wabash Counties along the Eel River. Mobile home park in North Manchester begins to flood.

*At 14.0 feet...Extensive flooding of residences and low lying areas begins.

*This crest compares to a previous crest of 14.4 feet which occurred on Apr 21 2013.

*At 6 PM Monday the stage was 9.2 feet and rising.

*Major flooding is forecast.

*Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

*Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage very early Wednesday morning and crest near 15.9 feet around 1 PM Thursday February 22 and fall below flood stage around 2 AM Sunday February 25.

*At 16.0 feet...Residential areas and high school property flood. Water from 1 to 3 feet deep affects southern and eastern sections of the city.
