Indiana Target Area: Adams, Allen, Blackford, Cass, De Kalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, La Porte, Lagrange, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, White, and Whitley Counties.

 

Below freezing temperatures tonight could harm fragile plants.
With temperatures falling to between 25 and 30 degrees tonight and the potential for frost, those with fragile flowers and plants that are susceptible will want to consider taking steps to protect them. This includes taking potted plants inside or covering plants that are in the ground.

WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON EDT /11 AM CDT/ TO 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ THURSDAY.

*WHAT: Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected. Isolated wind gusts to 50 mph are possible.                                                                        *WHERE: Portions of northern Indiana, southwest Michigan, and northwest Ohio.        *WHEN: From noon EDT /11 AM CDT/ to 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ Thursday.                  *IMPACTS: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

*IMPACTS: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Gusty winds this morning.
Southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph will persist this morning west of Interstate 69. While wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph will be common, a few locations could see brief gusts to around 45 mph. The highest gusts are expected to subside from west to east through 7 am EDT.

*WHAT: West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

*WHERE: Portions of northern Indiana.

*WHEN: Until 2 AM EDT /1 AM CDT/ Saturday. The strongest winds are expected between 700 PM and midnight EDT.

*IMPACTS: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

*ADDITIONAL DETAILS: A few isolated wind gusts to 55 to 60 mph are possible this evening in association with showers moving across the area.
