Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: Cass and Miami Counties.

 

The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southeastern Cass County and Southwestern Miami County until 3:15 PM EDT.

*At 225 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Walton, or 10 miles southwest of Grissom Afb, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

*Locations impacted include: Logansport, Grissom Afb, Walton, Bunker Hill, Lincoln, Galveston, Miami, Onward, Deacon, New Waverly, Adamsboro, Nead and Anoka.

Indiana Target Area: Adams, Allen, Blackford, Cass, De Kalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, La Porte, Lagrange, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, White and Whitley Counties.

 

DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM EDT /8 AM CDT/ THIS MORNING.

The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Dense Fog Advisory, which is in effect until 9 AM EDT /8 AM CDT/ this morning.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER:
*Areas of dense fog reducing the visibility to around a quarter of a mile or less.
*Until 9 AM EDT.

IMPACTS:
*Hazardous travel conditions in the dense fog.


Instructions: A Dense Fog Advisory means visibility will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use your headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

PATCHY DENSE FOG THIS MORNING.

The combination of clear skies, light winds, and moisture has allowed for the development of areas of fog this morning. Some patchy dense fog is expected through 7 AM EDT, with visibility reduced to one quarter of a mile or less in the denser fog patches. Visibility vary dramatically across the region this morning, and motorists should be alert for rapid changes in visibility across short distances. Visibility will rapidly improve toward 8 AM EDT this morning for most locations. The fog will be slowest to diminish across northwest Indiana.
