Update: WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EST /9 PM CST/ THIS EVENING.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER:
*Northwest winds between 20 and 35 mph can be expected with gusts of 40 to 50 mph at times.

IMPACTS:
*High profile vehicles may encounter difficulty due to the higher wind gusts. Loose objects will be blown around. Some damage to tree limbs is possible along with scattered power outages.

Indiana Target Area: Adams, Allen, Blackford, Cass, De Kalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, La Porte, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke, Wabash, Wells, White and Whitley Counties.

 

WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON EST /11 AM CST/ TODAY TO 8 PM EST /7 PM CST/ THIS EVENING.

The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Wind Advisory...which is in effect from noon EST /11 AM CST/ today to 8 PM EST /7 PM CST/ this evening.

 

HAZARDOUS WEATHER:
**Winds will increase from west to east late this morning into early this afternoon. Strong winds will continue into early this evening.

**West winds of 20 to 30 mph this afternoon into early evening with gusts to 40 to 45 mph possible.

IMPACTS:
**High profile vehicles may encounter difficulty due to the higher wind gusts. Loose objects will be blown around. Some damage to tree limbs is possible.

 

Instructions: A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 mph or gusts of 45 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

*South to southeast winds of 20 to 30 mph gusting to 45 mph through the early evening hours.

*Difficult travel for high profile vehicles. Loose objects will be blown around. Minor damage to tree limbs possible.

A Wintry Mix Overnight.

Light snow mixed with freezing drizzle at times will spread across northern Indiana and far southwest Lower Michigan overnight. Although the precipitation should remain light, roads may become icy and extremely slippery in a short period of time. If you are traveling, slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.

Indiana Target Area: De Kalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Kosciusko, La Porte, Lagrange, Marshall, Noble, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke, Steuben and Whitley Counties.

 

Areas of Dense Fog This Evening.

Areas of dense fog will affect northern Indiana and southwest lower Michigan this evening. Visibility of 1 to 2 miles can be expected over most of the area with some locations dropping to one quarter of a mile at times. Visibility are expected to improve later tonight as wind speeds begin to increase. Motorists should exercise caution and allow extra distance in front you. Be prepared for rapid changes in visibility across short distances.

DENSE FOG ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM EST /2 AM CST/ SATURDAY.

*VISIBILITY...Dense fog will drop visibility to a quarter mile or less at times.

*TIMING...now through 3 AM EST/2 AM CST Saturday.

*IMPACTS...Reduced visibility will result in hazardous driving conditions through late tonight. Some slick spots on bridges and overpasses may be possible for locations near 32 degrees.

 

Instructions: A Dense Fog Advisory means visibility will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving...slow down... use your headlights...and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
