Flood Watch Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)


Indiana Target Area: Adams, Allen, Blackford, Cass, De Kalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, La Porte, Lagrange, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, White and Whitley Counties.

 


FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM NOON EST /11 AM CST/ TODAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.


The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Flood Watch for portions of northern Indiana, southwest Michigan, and northwest Ohio, including the following areas, in northern Indiana, Adams, Allen IN, Blackford, Cass IN, De Kalb, Elkhart, Fulton IN, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, La Porte, Lagrange, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Pulaski, St. Joseph IN, Starke, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, White, and Whitley. In southwest Michigan, Berrien, Branch, Cass MI, Hillsdale, and St. Joseph MI. In northwest Ohio, Allen OH, Defiance, Fulton OH, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert, and Williams.

*From noon EST /11 AM CST/ today through Wednesday afternoon.

*Periods of moderate to occasionally heavy rain are likely to cause flooding on area streams, rivers, low lying and other flood prone areas.

*Amounts of generally 2 to 4 inches are expected by Wednesday evening.

 

Instructions: A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. If you live along streams and rivers or in any flood prone area, remain alert to this flooding potential the next several days. Listen to NOAA Weather All Hazards Radio or other sources for the latest forecast information.

Indiana Target Area: Cass, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Kosciusko, La Porte, Lagrange, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke, Wabash, White and Whitley Counties.


Quick burst of moderate snow this evening.

Moderate snow will spread across the area early this evening. Visibility will be reduced to a half mile or less at times. Quick accumulations of up to an inch are possible and this could lead to hazardous travel conditions. Motorists are urged to use caution if traveling this evening. Snow will end by 9 PM EST /8 PM CST/.

Fog This Evening Continues Into The Overnight

Areas of fog have developed this afternoon with visibility reduced to less than a half mile in pots. Expect visibility to remain low during the overnight in areas with higher snow pack especially areas north of US-24. Motorists should be alert for rapidly changing visibility and should use low beam headlights. Conditions will improve later in the overnight for those areas south of US-24 where little snow pack resides and winds begin to pick up.

Dense Fog Advisory Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)


Indiana Target Area: Allen, Cass, De Kalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Kosciusko, Lagrange, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Pulaski, Starke, Steuben, Wabash, White and Whitley Counties.

 

DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM EST /8 AM CST/ THURSDAY

The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Dense Fog Advisory...which is in effect until 9 AM EST /8 AM CST/ Thursday.

*VISIBILITY...Around one quarter mile or less.

*IMPACTS...The dense fog combined with wet road surfaces will make nighttime travel hazardous.

 

 

Instructions: A Dense Fog Advisory means visibility will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving...slow down... use your headlights...and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

Patchy light freezing drizzle possible this evening.


A mix of flurries and patchy light freezing drizzle is expected to affect portions of northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio through 8 PM EST this evening. This area of light precipitation will affect areas roughly along and southeast of line from Defiance Ohio to Churubusco Indiana to Monticello Indiana. While precipitation will remain very light this evening, light amounts of freezing drizzle may cause some slick spots on roadways. Motorists should be prepared for variable road conditions this evening. If traveling this evening, allow yourself some extra time to reach your destination. Slow down at intersections and give extra distance between you and vehicle ahead of you.
