Indiana Target Area: Adams, Allen, Blackford, Cass, De Kalb, Eastern St. Joseph, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Lagrange, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Northern Kosciusko, Northern La Porte, Pulaski, Southern Kosciusko, Southern La Porte, Starke, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, Western St. Joseph, White, and Whitley Counties.

 

WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM EDT /5 AM CDT/ TO 6 PM EDT /5 PM CDT/ SATURDAY.

* WHAT...West winds to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph shifting northwest, then diminishing by evening.

* WHERE...Portions of northern Indiana, southwest Michigan and northwest Ohio.

* WHEN...From 6 AM EDT /5 AM CDT/ to 6 PM EDT /5 PM CDT/ Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

 

Instructions: Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.

Special Weather Statement Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: De Kalb, Eastern St. Joseph, Elkhart, Fulton, Lagrange, Marshall, Noble, Northern Kosciusko, Northern La Porte, Pulaski, Southern Kosciusko, Southern La Porte, Starke, Steuben, and Western St. Joseph Counties.

 

Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of Elkhart, Noble, northern Kosciusko, Lagrange, southern La Porte, Steuben, St. Joseph Indiana, northwestern De Kalb, northwestern Fulton, Pulaski, Starke, Marshall, southeastern Cass, St. Joseph, Branch and western Hillsdale Counties through 930 PM EDT/830 PM CDT/.

At 811 PM EDT/711 PM CDT/, the public reported and radar indicated strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Union City to near Dunlap to near La Crosse. Movement was east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar and Public.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.


Strong thunderstorms will be near...Union City around 815 PM EDT. Bristol and Hamlet around 830 PM EDT. Other locations in the path of these storms include Middlebury, Koontz Lake, Walkerton, Constantine, White Pigeon, Plymouth, North Liberty, Sturgis, Lakeville and Bremen. This includes the following highways...Interstate 69 in Indiana between mile markers 340 and 357. Interstate 69 in Michigan between mile markers 1 and 21. Interstate 80 in Indiana between mile markers 79 and 154.

Special Weather Statement Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: Fulton, Marshall, Northern Kosciusko, and Southern Kosciusko Counties.

 

A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of northeastern Fulton, Kosciusko and southeastern Marshall Counties through 645 PM EDT.

At 612 PM EDT, trained weather spotters reported a strong thunderstorm near Argos, or 10 miles north of Rochester, moving east at 60 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Trained weather spotters reported half inch hail near Culver and Burr Oak.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.
This strong thunderstorm will be near, Mentone around 620 PM EDT, and Warsaw and Winona Lake around 630 PM EDT.
Other locations in the path of this storm include Pierceton.

Flood Warning Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: Fulton, Kosciusko, Marshall, Pulaski, and Starke Counties.

The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Indiana...Tippecanoe River near Ora affecting Kosciusko, Marshall, Starke, Pulaski and Fulton IN Counties.



FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY EVENING TO EARLY THURSDAY AFTERNOON.

*WHAT: Minor flooding is forecast.

*WHERE: Tippecanoe River near Ora.

*WHEN: From Saturday evening to early Thursday afternoon.

*IMPACTS: At 12.0 feet, The river is at flood stage...significant lowland and rural flooding begins.

*ADDITIONAL DETAILS.
-At 8:45 PM EDT Friday /7:45 PM CDT Friday/ the stage was 11.6 feet.
-Forecast: The river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow evening to a crest of 12.4 feet early Monday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Wednesday afternoon.
-Flood stage is 12.0 feet.

Winter Storm Warning Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: De Kalb, Eastern St. Joseph, Elkhart, Fulton, Lagrange, Marshall, Noble, Northern Kosciusko, Northern La Porte, Pulaski, Southern Kosciusko, Southern La Porte, Starke, Steuben, and Western St. Joseph Counties.

 

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON EST /11 AM CST/ FRIDAY TO MIDNIGHT EST /11 PM CST/ FRIDAY NIGHT.

*WHAT: Heavy snow expected. Isolated thunderstorms possible. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 with isolated higher amounts around 10 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

*WHERE: Portions of northern Indiana, southwest Michigan and northwest Ohio.

*WHEN: From noon EST /11 AM CST/ Friday to midnight EST /11 PM CST/ Friday night.

*IMPACTS: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute. The combination of gusty winds and heavy, wet snow could bring down tree branches and lead to power outages.

*ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Snowfall rates in excess of 1 inch per hour are expected.

 

Instructions: If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
