Indiana Target Area: Adams, Blackford, Cass, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Miami, Pulaski, Starke, Wabash, Wells, and White Counties.

 

DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM EDT /10 AM CDT/ THIS MORNING.

*WHAT: Visibility less than one mile in dense fog.

*WHERE: Portions of northern Indiana.

*WHEN: Until 11 AM EDT /10 AM CDT/ this morning.

*IMPACTS: Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

 

Instructions: If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

Red Flag Warning Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: Adams, Allen, Blackford, Cass, De Kalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, La Porte, Lagrange, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, White, and Whitley Counties.

 

RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM EDT /10 AM CDT/ THIS MORNING TO 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ THIS EVENING.

The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Red Flag Warning which is in effect from 11 AM EDT /10 AM CDT/ this morning to 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* TEMPERATURES...Lower to middle 60s.

* HUMIDITY...Minimum values 25 to 30 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

 

Instructions: A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...and low relative humidity can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Special Weather Statement Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: Cass, Fulton, Grant, La Porte, Marshall, Miami, Pulaski, St., Joseph, Starke, Wabash, and White Counties.

 

Elevated Fire Danger This Afternoon with Gusty Conditions.
There is an increased risk for grass, field, brush and ditch fires as well as unmonitored campfires to spread out of control this afternoon, especially along west of Highway 31. Low relative humidity values around or less than 35 percent and southwest winds gusting to between 25 to 30 mph are expected this afternoon.

 

Instructions: Burning is not recommended. Make sure you are following local laws that may be in place regarding burning in your location. If you must burn, ensure that the fire is constantly monitored and several options are available to quickly extinguish the fire. Contact your local fire department with any questions and if control of the fire is lost.

NWS Advise: This will be the last frost/freeze headline of the 2020 growing season.

FROST ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM EDT /1 AM CDT/ TO 8 AM EDT /7 AM CDT/ SATURDAY.

*WHAT: Temperatures dropping into the low to mid 30s will result in frost formation.

*WHERE: Portions of northern Indiana, southwest Michigan and northwest Ohio.

*WHEN: From 2 AM EDT /1 AM CDT/ to 8 AM EDT /7 AM CDT/ Saturday.

*IMPACTS: Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered.

*TEMPERATURES: Lower to middle 60s.

*HUMIDITY: Minimum values 25 to 30 percent.
