Special Weather Statement Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: Adams, Allen, Blackford, Cass, De Kalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, La Porte, Lagrange, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Pulaski, St., Joseph, Starke, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, White, and Whitley Counties.

 

Areas of Freezing Fog Developing Early This Morning.

Areas of freezing fog have developed generally along Route 24 and west of Hwy 31 this morning. Bridges and elevated surfaces may become slippery. Elsewhere, fog should remain patchy however, localized spots may see visibility drop to less than one mile briefly. If you are traveling early this morning, slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination. This fog should dissipate by 8 AM EST.

Areas of Freezing Fog This Morning.

Areas of freezing fog will continue to develop early this morning south of a line from Knox to Warsaw including the Rochester, Monticello and Logansport areas. The freezing fog will be locally dense until around 9 AM EST.

 

Instructions: If you are traveling early this morning, slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination. Watch out for children waiting for the school that may be hard to see in the dark and foggy conditions.

Indiana Target Area: Cass, Fulton, La Porte, Marshall, Pulaski, Starke, and White Counties.

 

A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT WHITE, PULASKI, NORTHWESTERN FULTON, NORTHWESTERN CASS, STARKE, SOUTHWESTERN MARSHALL AND SOUTHWESTERN LA PORTE COUNTIES.

At 839 PM EST/739 PM CST/, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from La Crosse to near Remington. The movement was east at 35 mph. Wind gusts up to 50 mph are possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include: Monticello, Knox, Winamac, Monon, North Judson, Brookston, Culver, Wolcott, Francesville, Royal Center, Medaryville, La Crosse, Pulaski, Oak Grove, Ripley, Reynolds, Chalmers, Burnettsville, Monterey, Lomax and Interstate 65 between mile markers 185 and 198.

A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT EAST CENTRAL WHITE, EASTERN PULASKI, FULTON, WESTERN KOSCIUSKO, CASS, WESTERN MIAMI
AND MARSHALL COUNTIES.

At 923 PM EST, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Plymouth to Delphi. Movement was east at 40 mph. Winds in excess of 40 mph are possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include: Logansport, Warsaw, Peru, Plymouth, Rochester, Grissom AFB, Bourbon, Argos, Milford, Culver, Akron, Walton, Mentone, Bunker Hill, Royal Center, Mexico, Lincoln, Wells, Walnut and Tippecanoe.

Wind Advisory Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: De Kalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Kosciusko, La Porte, Lagrange, Marshall, Noble, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke, and Steuben Counties.

 

WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EST /MIDNIGHT CST/ WEDNESDAY.

*WHAT: South to southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.

*WHERE: Portions of northern Indiana and southwest Michigan.

*WHEN: Until 1 AM EST /midnight CST/ Wednesday.

*IMPACTS: Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

*ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Showers and isolated thunderstorms will increase this evening. A few of these showers may produce wind gusts in excess of 50 mph.

 

Instructions: Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
