Indiana Target Area: Adams, Allen, Blackford, Cass, De Kalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, La Porte, Lagrange, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, White, and Whitley Counties.

 

HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ THIS EVENING.

HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM EDT /NOON CDT/ TO 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ WEDNESDAY.

*WHAT: Heat index values 95 to 105 degrees.

*WHERE: Portions of northern Indiana, southwest Michigan and northwest Ohio.

*WHEN: For the first Heat Advisory, until 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ this evening. For the second Heat Advisory, from 1 PM EDT /noon CDT/ to 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ Wednesday.

*IMPACTS: Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur.

 

Instructions: Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 911.

*WHAT: Heat index values from the upper 90s to 105.

*WHERE: Portions of northern Indiana, southwest Michigan and northwest Ohio.

*WHEN: From Noon EDT /11 AM CDT/ Monday to 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ Tuesday.

*IMPACTS: Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur.

*ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Heat advisory conditions are likely again Wednesday and Thursday.

Special Weather Statement Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: Cass, Fulton, Miami, and Pulaski Counties.

 

A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT SOUTHEASTERN PULASKI, SOUTHERN FULTON, CASS, AND NORTHWESTERN MIAMI COUNTIES.

At 932 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 10 miles east of Royal Center, or 11 miles southwest of Rochester, moving southeast at 30 mph. Winds in excess of 30 mph are possible with this storm. Frequent cloud-to-ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may cause localized flooding.

Locations impacted include: Logansport, Peru, Royal Center, Mexico, Kewanna, Erie, Denver, Fulton, Macy, Clymers, Nyena Lake, Leases Corner, Deedsville, Hoover, Lucerne, Anoka, Chili, New Waverly, Twelve Mile, and Metea.

 

Instructions: Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Indiana Target Area: Benton, Cass, Elkhart, Fulton, Huntington, Jasper, Kosciusko, La Porte, Lagrange, Lake, Marshall, Miami, Newton, Noble, Porter, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke, Wabash, White, and Whitley Counties.

 

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 400 IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 800 AM CDT

Indiana Target Area: Fulton, Marshall, Pulaski, and Starke Counties.

 

A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT PULASKI, NORTHERN FULTON, SOUTHERN STARKE AND SOUTHERN MARSHALL COUNTIES.

At 826 PM EDT/726 PM CDT/, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Bourbon to near Dunns Bridge. Movement was southeast at 25 mph. Winds in excess of 40 mph are possible with these storms. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may cause localized flooding.

Locations impacted include: Rochester, Winamac, Bourbon, North Judson, Argos, Culver, Mentone, Francesville, Medaryville, Pulaski, Walnut, Tippecanoe, Oak Grove, Ripley, Kewanna, Monterey, Leiters Ford, Beardstown, Ober and Denham.
