Flood Advisory Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: Fulton, Kosciusko, Pulaski and White Counties.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NORTHERN INDIANA HAS ISSUED A URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR: NORTHERN WHITE COUNTY IN NORTHWESTERN INDIANA, FULTON COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL INDIANA, SOUTHWESTERN KOSCIUSKO COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL INDIANA AND SOUTHERN PULASKI COUNTY IN NORTHWESTERN INDIANA UNTIL 700 PM EDT/600 PM CDT/ SUNDAY(6/14/2015).

AT 406 PM EDT /306 PM CDT/...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH TORRENTIAL RAINFALL DEVELOPING AND MOVING OVER THE SAME LOCATION. AT LEAST AN INCH OF RAIN HAS FALLEN ACROSS MUCH OF THE ADVISORY AREA WITH AN ADDITIONAL INCH OR MORE POSSIBLE THROUGH 6 PM EDT. THIS WILL CAUSE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING IN THE
ADVISORY AREA. SOME REPORTS OF WATER ON STATE ROUTE 25 NEAR ROCHESTER HAVE BEEN RECEIVED VIA SOCIAL MEDIA.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE: WARSAW, ROCHESTER, WINAMAC, MONON, AKRON, MENTONE,
FRANCESVILLE, PULASKI, KEWANNA, CLAYPOOL, BURKET, SIDNEY, BUFFALO, LAKE BRUCE, LAKESIDE, TIOSA, STAR CITY, HEADLEE, TALMA AND LAWTON.

Instructions: MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DON'T DROWN. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

Flood Watch Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: Fulton, Kosciusko, Marshall, Pulaski, and Starke Counties.

The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a flood watch for the following: Tippecanoe River near Ora affecting Fulton, Kosciusko, Marshall, Pulaski and Starke Counties. This watch is from Wednesday afternoon(6/17/2015) until Friday evening(6/19/2015). At 10 AM Sunday(6/14/2015) the flood stage was 9.4 feet and steady rising. Tippecanoe River in Ora flood stage is set for 12.0 feet.

Heavy rains occurred across the area over the past day or two and additional rain is likely to happen today sometime. This will cause the Tippecanoe River to
rise to flood stage near Ora in the next few days.

Forecast: If current precipitation forecasts hold The river may rise to near 12.1 feet Wednesday evening.

Instructions: A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. Indiana Target Area: Adams, Allen, Blackford, Boone, Carroll, Cass, Clay, Clinton, De Kalb, Delaware, Elkhart, Fayette, Fountain, Fulton, Grant, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Howard, Huntington, Jay, Johnson, Kosciusko, Lagrange, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Miami, Montgomery, Morgan, Noble, Owen, Parke, Pulaski, Putnam, Randolph, Rush, Shelby, Starke, Steuben, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Union, Vermillion, Vigo, Wabash, Warren, Wayne, Wells, and White Counties.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 299 IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9:00 PM EDT/8:00 CDT ON SUNDAY(6/14/2015).

Special Weather Statement Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: Grant, Miami, and Wabash Counties.

A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT NORTHWESTERN GRANT, SOUTHEASTERN MIAMI AND SOUTHERN WABASH COUNTIES.

AT 541 PM EDT A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WAS 8 MILES NORTHWEST OF SWEETSER OR 11 MILES SOUTHEAST OF PERU MOVING EAST AT 40 MPH. WIND GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH ARE POSSIBLE WITH THIS STORM.

THIS STORM WILL BE NEAR SWEETSER AROUND 550 PM EDT, LA FONTAINE AROUND 555 PM EDT, AND MARION AROUND 610 PM EDT.

OTHER LOCATIONS IMPACTED BY THIS STORM INCLUDE SOMERSET, MIER, ROSEBURG, HOME CORNER, JALAPA, AMBOY, CONVERSE, RICHVALLEY, HERBST AND SERVIA.

TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IS ALSO OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM AND MAY CAUSE LOCALIZED FLOODING. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE THROUGH FLOODED ROADWAYS. FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING IS OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM. LIGHTNING CAN STRIKE 15 MILES AWAY FROM A THUNDERSTORM. SEEK A SAFE SHELTER INSIDE A BUILDING OR VEHICLE.
