AT 332 PM CDT A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED 7 MILES SOUTHWEST OF WINAMAC MOVING EAST AT 20 MPH.

POTENTIAL FOR FLASH FLOODING THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAINFALL ARE EXPECTED TO BECOME
WIDESPREAD ACROSS THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT AS A SLOW MOVING COLD FRONT MOVES INTO THE AREA. THIS COMBINED WITH RECENT HEAVY RAINFALL MAY RESULT IN FLASH FLOODING. PEOPLE LIVING NEAR STREAMS, RIVERS AND IN URBAN AREAS ARE ESPECIALLY SUSCEPTIBLE POTENTIAL FOR FLASH FLOODING THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

Instructions: A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT WESTERN FULTON COUNTY. AT 453 PM EDT A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WAS 7 MILES SOUTHEAST OF WINAMAC, MOVING EAST AT 30 MPH.

WIND GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH ARE POSSIBLE WITH THIS STORM. THIS STORM WILL BE NEAR ROCHESTER AROUND 525 PM EDT.

OTHER INDIANA LOCATIONS IMPACTED BY THIS STORM INCLUDE LAKE MANITOU, ATHENS, NYONA LAKE, BRUCE LAKE STATION, MARSHTOWN, KEWANNA, FULTON AND GRASS CREEK.

TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IS ALSO OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM AND MAY CAUSE LOCALIZED FLOODING. FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING IS OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM. LIGHTNING CAN STRIKE 15 MILES AWAY FROM A THUNDERSTORM. SEEK A SAFE SHELTER INSIDE A BUILDING OR VEHICLE.

Flood Watch Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: Fulton, Kosciusko, Marshall, Pulaski, and Starke Counties.

The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a flood watch for the Tippecanoe River in Indiana from Wednesday afternoon until Friday evening. Tippecanoe River near Ora, IN affecting Fulton, Kosciusko, Marshall, Pulaski and Starke Counties.

Heavy rains occurred across the area over the past day or two and additional rain is likely. This will cause the Tippecanoe River to rise to flood stage near Ora in the next few days.

At 10 AM Sunday the stage was 9.4 feet and steady. Flood stage for the Tippecanoe River in Ora, IN is 12.0 feet.

Forecast: If current precipitation forecasts holds the river may rise to near 12.1 feet Wednesday evening.

Instructions: A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
