HOT AND HUMID WEATHER EXPECTED THROUGH THE WEEKEND. HEAT INDEX VALUES ARE EXPECTED TO CLIMB TO BETWEEN 95 AND 100 TODAY THEN TO BETWEEN 100 AND 110 ON SATURDAY. ACTUAL AIR TEMPERATURES WILL BE AROUND 90 TODAY BUT IN THE LOWER TO MIDDLE 90S ON SATURDAY. THIS WILL BE THE WARMEST AND MOST HUMID AIR OF THE SUMMER AND IT WILL FEEL ESPECIALLY OPPRESSIVE DUE TO THE RELATIVELY MILD AND WET SUMMER WE HAVE EXPERIENCED SO FAR. THERE WILL BE LITTLE RELIEF AT NIGHT AS VERY MUGGY CONDITIONS AND LIGHT WINDS ARE EXPECTED WITH LOW TEMPERATURES REMAINING IN THE 70S. THE HEAT MAY CONTINUE INTO SUNDAY BEFORE A COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH AND BRINGS COOLER AND LESS HUMID AIR BACK TO THE REGION. LIMIT YOUR EXPOSURE TO THE HEAT DURING THIS PERIOD, ESPECIALLY DURING THE HOTTEST PORTIONS OF THE DAY. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER, WEAR LIGHT COLORED CLOTHING AND SPEND TIME IN AIR CONDITIONED LOCATIONS. HEAT ILLNESSES CAN STRIKE AND PROGRESS RAPIDLY AND WITH LITTLE WARNING.

NEVER LEAVE CHILDREN OR PETS IN CARS. THE SUN CAN HEAT THE INTERIOR OF A VEHICLE TO DEADLY LEVELS IN A MATTER OF MINUTES. BEAT THE HEAT...CHECK THE BACKSEAT.
