THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NORTHERN INDIANA HAS ISSUED A HEAT ADVISORY, WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON EDT /11 AM CDT/ TODAY (7/17/2015) TO 9 PM EDT /8 PM CDT/ SATURDAY (7/18/2015).

HIGH TEMPERATURES...TEMPERATURES WILL RISE INTO THE LOWER 90S SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

PEAK HEAT INDICES...HEAT INDEX VALUES WILL RANGE FROM 100 TO 110 SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY EVENING.

IMPACTS: THE COMBINATION OF HEAT AND HUMIDITY WILL CREATE OPPRESSIVE CONDITIONS WHICH MAY CAUSE HEAT RELATED ILLNESSES TO DEVELOP DUE TO PROLONGED EXPOSURE, PARTICULARLY WITH THE ELDERLY AND THOSE WITH PRE-EXISTING HEALTH CONDITIONS.
