AT 401 PM EDT...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WAS NEAR ARGOS...OR 8 MILES NORTH OF ROCHESTER...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH. WIND GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH AND PEA SIZE HAIL ARE POSSIBLE WITH THIS STORM. 

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE: WARSAW...ROCHESTER...BOURBON...ARGOS...MENTONE...WALNUT...TIPPECANOE...ETNA GREEN... ATWOOD...MONOQUET...LITTLE CHAPMAN LAKE...INWOOD...BIG CHAPMAN LAKE...HOFFMAN LAKE...TALMA...OLD TIP TOWN... CLUNETTE AND TIOSA.

TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IS ALSO OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM...AND MAY CAUSE LOCALIZED FLOODING. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE THROUGH FLOODED ROADWAYS. FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING IS OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM. LIGHTNING CAN STRIKE 15 MILES AWAY FROM A THUNDERSTORM. SEEK A SAFE SHELTER INSIDE A BUILDING OR VEHICLE.

Indiana Target Area: Adams, Allen, Blackford, Cass, De Kalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, Lagrange, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, White, and Whitley Counties. 

FUNNEL CLOUDS POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON.   

ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF FUNNEL CLOUDS...ASSOCIATED WITH RAIN SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE AREA. THESE FUNNEL CLOUDS NORMALLY PROTRUDE A FEW HUNDRED FEET DOWNWARD FROM THE PARENT CLOUD...ROTATE OR SPIN LIKE A TOP...AND LAST A FEW MINUTES BEFORE DISSIPATING. THESE FUNNEL CLOUDS RARELY TOUCH THE GROUND AND TYPICALLY DO NOT POSE ANY SORT OF HAZARD. THE ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS THESE FUNNELS ARE DEVELOPING IN DO NOT SUPPORT STRONG OR DAMAGING TORNADOES. HOWEVER...ON EXTREMELY RARE OCCASIONS THESE FUNNELS CAN BRIEFLY TOUCH THE GROUND AND PRODUCE MINIMAL IF ANY DAMAGE. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILL CONTINUE TO CLOSELY MONITOR THE SITUATION.PLEASE FORWARD REPORTS OF FUNNEL SIGHTINGS TO THE NEAREST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY FOR RELAY TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.

AT 409 PM EDT...A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WAS ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM BUTLER TO NEAR COLUMBIA CITY TO NEAR AKRON...AND MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 50 MPH. WIND GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH AND PEA SIZE HAIL ARE POSSIBLE WITH THESE STORMS. 

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE: FORT WAYNE...HUNTINGTON...NEW HAVEN...WARSAW...AUBURN...VAN WERT...BLUFFTON... DECATUR...COLUMBIA CITY...GARRETT...NORTH MANCHESTER...WINONA LAKE...OSSIAN...TRI-LAKES... HUNTERTOWN... AVILLA... WATERLOO...CHURUBUSCO...SOUTH WHITLEY...WOODBURN...INTERSTATE 469 BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 0 AND 30 AND INTERSTATE 69 IN INDIANA BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 278 AND 335.

PATCHY DENSE FOG IS EXPECTED EARLY THIS MORNING... MAINLY IN RURAL LOW LYING AREAS. VISIBILITY IN A FEW LOCATIONS MAY BE REDUCED BY THE FOG TO A QUARTER MILE OR LESS. MOTORISTS SHOULD USE EXTRA CAUTION AND BE PREPARED TO SLOW DOWN IF FOG BANKS ARE ENCOUNTERED. VISIBILITY SHOULD IMPROVE BY 900 AM.
