Flood Watch Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: Cass, Kosciusko, Miami, Wabash and Whitley Counties.

 

The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Flood Watch for the following rivers Eel River at North Manchester affecting Cass, Kosciusko, Miami, Wabash and Whitley Counties.  

*From late Monday night until Friday morning. 

*At 9 AM Sunday the stage was 6.7 feet and falling. 

*Flood stage is 9.0 feet, flooding is possible.

*Forecast; If current precipitation forecasts hold, the river may rise to near 13.1 feet Tuesday afternoon. A higher crest is possible. 

Additional rounds of heavy rain are expected over the area this week. The ground remains saturated from heavy rainfall Friday where some locations received over 5 inches.

 

Instructions: Be prepared for very rapid rises on the Eel River this week. Torrential rain fall is possible through Wednesday night. A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Indiana Target Area: Fulton, Kosciusko, Marshall, Pulaski and Starke Counties.

 

The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Flood Watch for the following river; Tippecanoe River near Ora affecting Fulton, Kosciusko, Marshall, Pulaski and Starke Counties.  

*From late Tuesday night until Saturday morning. 

*At 8 PM Sunday the stage was 10.8 feet and rising. 

*Flood stage is 12.0 feet, flooding is possible. 

*Forecast: If current precipitation forecasts hold, the river may rise to near 12.9 feet Thursday afternoon. 

*At 12.0 feet, the river is at flood stage, significant lowland and rural flooding begins.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued by NWS Storm Prediction Center (Storm Prediction Center - Norman, Oklahoma)

Indiana Target Area: Adams, Allen, Blackford, Cass, De Kalb, Delaware, Fulton, Grant, Henry, Howard, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, Lagrange, Madison, Miami, Noble, Randolph, Steuben, Tipton, Wabash, Wayne, Wells and Whitley Counties.

 

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 401 IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 500 PM EDT.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: Fulton, Marshall, St. Joseph and Starke Counties.

 

The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the following Indiana Counties: St. Joseph, Fulton, Starke, and Marshall Counties. 

*Until 1145 AM EDT/1045 AM CDT/  

* At 1105 AM EDT/1005 AM CDT/, a severe thunderstorm was located near Koontz Lake, or near Plymouth, moving southeast at 50 mph. 

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail. HAIL...0.88IN & WIND...60MPH

SOURCE...Radar indicated. 

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.  

 

* Locations impacted include: Plymouth, Rochester, Bremen, Walkerton, Bourbon, Argos, Culver, Hamlet, Koontz Lake, Walnut, Tippecanoe, Oak Grove, La Paz, Teegarden, Tyner, Hibbard, Old Tip Town, Donaldson, Linkville and Lake Of The Woods. 

 

Instructions: For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Special Weather Statement Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: Elkhart, Fulton, Kosciusko, Marshall and Pulaski Counties.

 

A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT SOUTHWESTERN ELKHART, NORTHERN FULTON, NORTHEASTERN PULASKI, NORTHERN KOSCIUSKO AND MARSHALL COUNTIES.

At 917 PM EDT/817 PM CDT/, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Nappanee to near Culver. 

Movement was southeast at 35 mph. Winds in excess of 40 mph are possible with these storms. The strongest winds may occur several minutes before the rain arrives. 

Locations impacted include: Warsaw, Plymouth, Nappanee, Rochester, Bremen, Syracuse, Bourbon, Argos, Milford, Culver, Mentone, Locke, Walnut, Tippecanoe, Etna Green, Leesburg, Monterey, Burket, Leiters Ford and Monoquet.
