A BAND OF MODERATE TO HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT PORTIONS OF NORTHWEST AND NORTH CENTRAL INDIANA ALONG WITH SOUTHWEST LOWER MICHIGAN THIS AFTERNOON. THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR ARE EXPECTED ACROSS SOUTHWEST BERRIEN COUNTY AND MUCH OF LA PORTE COUNTY THROUGH 3 PM EST. THIS LAKE EFFECT BAND WILL ALSO AFFECT STARKE, PULASKI, FULTON, CASS, AND WHITE COUNTIES IN NORTHEAST INDIANA. MOTORISTS SHOULD EXPECT RAPID CHANGES IN VISIBILITY DUE TO THE NATURE OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW BANDS THIS AFTERNOON...WITH NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS POSSIBLE AT TIMES ACROSS ESPECIALLY SOUTHWEST BERRIEN AND LA PORTE COUNTIES.
