Winter Storm Watch Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: Elkhart, La Porte, Lagrange, Marshall, St. Joseph, Starke and Steuben Counties.                                                                                                                                         

WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY EVENING THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING.

*WHAT:_Heavy snow possible along with gusty winds and significant blowing and drifting snow. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches expected, with locally higher amounts possible.
*WHERE:_Portions of northern Indiana and southwest Michigan.
*WHEN:_From Friday evening through Saturday evening.
*ADDITIONAL DETAILS:_Snow overspreading the area Friday evening through late Friday night and continuing into Saturday afternoon. Moderate to heavy snow combined with gusty northeast winds to 25 to 35 mph on Saturday into early Saturday evening will create hazardous travel conditions.

Instructions: A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.

Patchy Freezing Drizzle Overnight.

Patchy light freezing drizzle is expected overnight and may continue into mid morning Wednesday. A light glaze of ice may form on roads and sidewalks, leading to slippery conditions. Be prepared for slick spots on roads if traveling and allow extra time to reach your destination. Slow down and use caution.

Winter Weather Advisory Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: Adams, Blackford, Cass, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Miami, Pulaski, Wabash, Wells and White Counties.

 

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM EST /2 AM CST/ SUNDAY.

*WHAT: Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches expected. Isolated amounts up to 7 inches possible near and south of a line from Monticello to Marion to Portland Indiana.
*WHERE: Portions of northern Indiana.
*WHEN: Continuing until 3 AM EST Sunday.
*ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Plan on slippery road conditions. Snow may be moderate to locally heavy at times Saturday with visibility of one quarter mile or less.
