Flood Advisory Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: Fulton, Kosciusko, and Marshall Counties.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NORTHERN INDIANA HAS ISSUED A FLOOD ADVISORY FOR FULTON, MARSHALL, KOSCIUSKO COUNTIES UNTIL 815 PM EDT.  

DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN DUE TO THUNDERSTORMS. RADAR ESTIMATES THAT BETWEEN 1 AND 2 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN MARSHALL COUNTY WITH HEAVY RAINFALL EXPECTED TO AFFECT SOUTHERN KOSCIUSKO AND NORTHERN FULTON COUNTIES THROUGH 615 PM EDT. RUNOFF FROM THIS HEAVY RAINFALL WILL RESULT IN MINOR FLOODING.  

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE: WARSAW, PLYMOUTH, ROCHESTER, WINONA LAKE, BOURBON, ARGOS, CULVER, AKRON, PIERCETON, MENTONE, WALNUT, TIPPECANOE, ETNA GREEN, CLAYPOOL, BURKET, SIDNEY, BIG BARBEE LAKE, ATWOOD, PACKERTON AND LEITERS FORD.

Instructions: MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DON'T DROWN.
